Beautiful new baby girl
I was just SO happy with this session
I’m sure some of these will make their way into the newborn portfolio section in the next round of website updates.
See her fuzzy hair sticking out on this one? Mom said she had a bath right before the session, LOL

This is one of my favorite “baby feet” pictures, I think. Everybody loves the feet! I’m finding out that those feet pictures are top priority in newborn sessions! So I like to offer some variety when possible:

Now *this* is a work of art! (Actually, all my images are works of art! LOL) OK, so this is special because of the various blurring and blending/texture techniques used to make this image more than just a photograph. I even gave it a title
Behold, “Autumn Princess” (Click on the thumbnail to see the full size):
And lastly, some selective coloring that you hardly ever see from me. But I thought this was very nice ![]()

The holiday set, sample images finally!
This little model was kind enough to help me show the holiday backdrop/floor set that we’ll be using on the mini-session date. The floor or backdrop can be used during other sessions also…for example you could pair the floor with one of the other muslins or seamless paper. I was going for a “draped” look in the background, I’m going to work on getting that backdrop softer so it drapes a bit better.
So in these first two, I gave them an artistic effect that I though was perfect for her!

And this, below, is just “standard” version, a little bit of darkened edges because I love that!:

And, last one, because she has the best eye lashes, and I have to show a close-up ![]()

More cuteness…
This family did such a great job coordinating their clothing! The little guys were great to work with as well. Until they got tired of me! LOL

Holiday Schedule and Mini-Session
The mini-session date is October 20, in the morning. Pricing is as follows: $175 ($50 required to hold spot, $125 due on day of session) 15-20 minute mini-session, 8-12 proofs presented in online gallery, 1 package (25) flat holiday cards, and five gift prints (8×10 or smaller). Sweet Apple (deep mottled red color) backdrop + wood floor, Santa Hats available. Miscellaneous holiday-ish props will be available, like candy-canes, red petti-skirts are expected to arrive soon (these are kind of like ruffl-y tutu skirts), I have a little miniature bed if you’d like to dress the kids in Christmas pajamas (I’m doing this for my own kids this year for sure!!! What could be cuter?!?!), you can have them bring their Christmas stocking. I will be putting sample images of this set up on the blog, so look for that in the next week or so.
Many of you will enjoy a full session for the holidays because you’ll have so many more proof images to choose from. You’ll also be able to choose your own backdrop, probably even two backdrops and do clothing changes, etc. On-location sessions are still available as well, indoors or outside.
October Special for Full Sessions: Receive 20% off first holiday card set, additional sets at 35% off, and buy2-get1 mini collages (or buy1-get50% off standard size) for your holiday gifts! October Full-sessions only.
You can still book a portrait party if you would like. There is a little bit of information about that on the SLM Studios webpage section for pricing, but I’d be happy to answer any questions you have about hosting a party. Guests receive special discounted pricing and packages and the hostess is rewarded for all of her hard work!
It is also important to note that there is a $200 minimum print purchase from your session before holiday cards can be purchased. This does not apply to the mini-sessions or a portrait party.
Do keep checking back here! I may have other important announcements throughout the season.
Now for the DEADLINES….
Nov 14 is the deadline for completing your Holiday session for portraits and cards needed for the holidays.
November 21 is the deadline for placing a custom portrait bag/purse order.
November 28 is the absolute deadline for placing your holiday card order. I strongly recommend getting the card orders in about a week before that (Nov 21).
December – you may still book a session in December, but I cannot guarantee anything for Christmas. Clients generally receive their finished order one month from the date of their session. You can speed up this process by making your decision very quickly after your online gallery is available and making payment for your order immediately. Portraits and collages have the fastest turnaround times. Cards and portrait handbags and purses have the longest turnaround times, especially during the holiday season. I hope nobody needs that information in December, but there it is!
That is WAY too much information, isn’t it??? LOL I’ll post reminders and updates along the way!

Holiday card designs.
Here’s a little preview. There are more designs, and I’m sure more samples will show up here on the blog throughout the season! Remember that you can order holiday cards from previous sessions this year. That might not work if you have a baby that’s grown a lot though!
